The successful candidate will work directly with our current office principal to learn our projects, clients and processes and with the intent of moving into a significant leadership role in the Austin office. Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (held or pending).
  • 8 – 15 years professional experience in an architectural office.
  • Excellent design and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent digital presentation skills, preferably including Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials, details, methods and standard building codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is a minimum requirement; the firm has fully implemented Revit on all new projects.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in developing and implementing a marketing strategy for expanding the firm’s presence in the specified market.
  • Develop new client contacts and opportunities throughout the firm and maintain existing ones as repeat business and positive references after the project completion. Partnering with clients to develop loyalty and trust is critical to this position.
  • Participate in business development activities with the market leadership and other firm leadership both locally and nationally.
  • Participate in the development of an annual business plan and in the achievement of acceptable business results.
  • Participate in developing collateral material with the graphic and marketing leadership to represent the market practice.
  • Leading interviews and proposal development for new opportunities.
  • Develop cross-disciplinary opportunities outside of the market to our other markets. This includes collaboration with other market practice leaders to develop new market opportunities and innovative project approaches.
  • Participate in leadership strategic initiatives to develop the market brand and the brand of Lawrence Group.
  • Empower staff and delegate effectively building high-performing teams, by encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead internal planning activities that increase the team’s knowledge about the client and establish a network of relationships with the client.
  • Maintain regular proactive communication with client regardless of existence of current work.
  • Collaborate with Principals, CFO, and internal counsel to implement risk management strategies and practices consistent with firm policies.
  • Capture information regarding the strategic performance of our work, and key outcomes.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Licensed Architect or NCIDQ
  • 10+ years of experience working with specified market sector projects
  • Membership in related professional organization desirable
  • LEED Accredited (optional)

Intermediate Architect

The New York Office of the Lawrence Group is seeking candidates for an intermediate architect position starting immediately. The office is a boutique design studio with 12 architects and designers with a commitment to individual growth and success within the organization. Project involvement at the intermediate architect level typically includes day to day project leadership and management along with the senior team. The range of clients in the office includes high profile retailers, to small scale boutique hospitality groups, as well as high end private residential owners and select one-off design focused groups.
