Lawrence Group is one of the largest and fastest growing architectural, interior design and town planning firms in St. Louis with over 180 employees in St. Louis, Austin, Carolinas, Denver, New York, Philadelphia and Beijing.

Lawrence Group was founded in 1983 by three fellow architectural graduates of University of Kansas. Steve Smith, David Ohlemeyer and Paul Doerner began working at Smith’s home in Lafayette Square. In 1984, they began offering interior design services with the addition of Linda Loewenstein. In 1996, the firm had grown to 32, and opened its first network office in New York City headed by Tom Lekometros. In 1997, the Carolinas office opened and is led by Craig Lewis. In 1999, I. Earl Swisher founded the Austin office, and the Denver office, headed by Kevin Koernig, opened. In 2003, the retail store Niche was established in downtown St. Louis, and in 2008, our Philadelphia and Beijing offices opened.
