BIM Manager

St. Louis

Lawrence Group is seeking a BIM manager to assist Revit users and project managers on all projects with management and coordination of Revit Architecture models, and to develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards.

Position responsibilities:

  • Meet Corporate BIM Objectives for Lawrence Group, working closely with peers in other offices to create platform for BIM implementation.
  • Develop working Process taking into account LG service requirements and workflow.
  • Development of Practice Standards in-line with industry templates and tuned for markets which LG are actively working within.
  • Implementation of working systems and monitors, developing QA system within standard profiles.
  • Develop and manage training programs and resources to allow all users to utilize BIM and related software most efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide internal continuing education sessions on software and processes.
  • Conduct regular open, all staff lunch and learns on best practices, tips and tricks.
  • Provide technical orientation to new hires regarding BIM tools, office standard processes and standards.
  • Maintain a high level of professional and technical knowledge of BIM and other digital design software through continued use as well as continuing education and training.
  • Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops for software. Network with other industry professionals via BIM user groups or other organizations. Share best practices and other information acquired with software users.
  • Develop and manage project standards coordinating with ARC (LG’s AutoCAD and Revit Committee).
  • Mentor colleagues on Revit and other software used by LG.
  • Check on the health of all BIM models and maintain acceptable level of warnings.
  • Create project specific Revit materials, content and BIM execution plans.
  • Facilitate and lead ARC meetings to leverage BIM, while providing updates at monthly and quarterly staff meetings.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day delivery of the design project.
  • Ensure that designs produced are accurate, and coordinated with the designs of other project-related parties and consistent with practice standards.
  • Facilitate the transfer of models to and from consultants.
  • Participate in the clash detection process with project consultants.
  • Communicate changes to the model internally and with the project consultants.
  • Have an understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages.
  • On time delivery of all training and assessment processes.
  • Provide back-up assistance to other members of the Architecture group.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Advanced proficiency in current version of Autodesk Revit with 5+ years working experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience preparing BIM plans and contracts with owners and consultant teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact and work well across all levels of the organization.
