Lawrence Group exhibits at Missouri Hospital Association’s Annual Convention and Trade Show

Lawrence Group attended Missouri Hospital Association’s Annual Convention and Trade Show, held November 1st through 3rd in Osage Beach. MHA was established in 1922 to further the improvement of Missouri Health Care systems, and has since expanded from 50 to 145 member hospitals.

Steve Smith Receives Construction Forum STL’s Board of Advisors’ Award

CEO Steve Smith was recently honored at Construction Forum STL’s Building Tomorrow Awards. Smith was a recipient for the Board of Advisors’ Award, as his work embodies all four categories addressed by the Forum—diversity/inclusion, workforce, regionalism and collaboration. The Forum’s Board of Directors made the final selections from over two dozen nominations.

Kevin Le Creates Rise in the City Art Competition Design Piece

Senior Associate Kevin Le was selected to represent the company at the Rise in the City’s art event in New York. Aiming to assist new entrepreneurs from low-income countries, Rise’s first event exhibited several art pieces for auction with the ultimate goal of creating funds to build a new facility for an orphanage in Lesotho, Southern Africa. Le’s design created a scene box that represents everyday life in both Lawrence Group’s assigned block #053 of New York and the town of Lesotho—a piece that represents unity. Lawrence Group Makes Top BD&C Lists in University, Multifamily, Retail, Hotel & Healthcare Architecture

Building Design & Construction (BD&C) released its annual Giants 300 issue, which includes BD&C’s rankings of the nation’s largest architectural, engineering and construction firms by market sector. Lawrence Group made the Top 60 Hotel Architecture Firms, Top 65 Retail Architecture Firms, Top 95 Multifamily Architecture Firms, Top 110 University Architecture Firms list and the Top 125 Healthcare Architecture Firms.

Lawrence Group Sponsors CAPPA/MAPPA Joint Conference

Lawrence Group is proud to sponsor the four-day CAPPA-MAPPA “Gateway to Better Facilities” joint conference. CAPPA and MAPPA represent the Central and Midwest chapters of APPA: Leadership in Educational facilities. The organization provides assistance to facilities professionals in colleges, universities, and other educational institutions throughout the nation.

International Design Competition for Chouteau Greenway Announced

Partnering with the City of St. Louis and Great Rivers Greenway, the design competition is privately funded by Lawrence Group, Arch to Park Collaborative, Forest Park Forever, Grand Center Inc., Great Rivers Greenway Foundation, Green Street St. Louis, Saint Louis University, Washington University in St. Louis and Washington University Medical Center. The project will connect the areas of Washington University and Forest Park to the Washington University Medical Center & BJC, the Cortex Innovation District, the City Foundry STL and Armory projects, Grand Center Arts District, Saint Louis University, Harris-Stowe State University, Midtown, Downtown and the Gateway Arch and Mississippi Riverfront. A 40-person Citizen Advisory Committee will help guide the process. Qualifications are due by November 21st. For more information, visit the GRG website.

Lawrence Group Exhibits at LeadingAge Missouri Annual Meeting

Representatives from Lawrence Group’s senior living team were on hand at the annual LeadingAge Missouri’s conference dedicated to healthcare, housing and services providers for the elderly. Founded in 1969, LeadingAge Missouri is a trade association devoted to furthering the interests of all elements of senior care.

Wendi Prange Joins Lawrence Group

Wendi Prange recently joined Lawrence Group as director of talent development. In her new role, Prange will help the firm provide additional resources and structure surrounding training, mentoring, and individual growth opportunities for employees. Prange brings more than eight years of talent development, employee engagement and action planning experience to Lawrence Group. She attained a Bachelor of Science in Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and her Master of Business Administration from McKendree University.

SSM Saint Louis University Hospital Breaks Ground

Construction begins on the SSM Saint Louis University Hospital after breaking ground on August 31st. The new $550 million, 825,000 square foot facility will feature 316 private patient rooms, an expanded level 1 trauma center and emergency department and larger intensive care units. The medical campus will also include convenient patient parking, a four-floor ambulatory care center, abundant outdoor green space, and has areas designated for future campus expansion. See More »

Covenant Place Breaks Ground on the Cahn Family Building

Covenant Place also broke ground this month on a new senior apartment building and community center located at Lindbergh Boulevard and Schuetz Road. Recent Project Referenced in Medical Design & Construction Article

SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri was recently featured in an online article from Medical Design & Construction. The article discusses the impacts of decentralized nursing units and a post-occupancy evaluation led by researchers at The University of Kansas. Lawrence Group completed the project in 2014 and worked with the hospital and university to conduct the evaluation.

Michelle Yates Earns 2017 SMPS Fellows Designation

Lawrence Group Director of Marketing Michelle Yates was one of three marketing professionals honored at the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) national conference in Indianapolis on July 13th for earning the 2017 SMPS Fellows designation, representing the highest level of experience and leadership in SMPS. Yates joined Lawrence Group in 2005, and over the years, she has held numerous leadership positions in SMPS, including president of the local chapter and committee chair of the national SMPS Foundation Informed Strategies Committee.

James Vira Joins Lawrence Group as Senior Associate

James Vira, AIA, LEED AP recently joined Lawrence Group’s New York office as a senior associate. With more than 20 years of experience, Vira has developed a diverse portfolio that includes work for academic, civic, retail, and corporate clients. A registered architect, he has worked on complex, large-scale projects at all stages of the design process including renovation, new construction and master planning. Vira is a published and award-winning designer. His competition-winning proposal for Rapidly Deployable Provisional Housing for the NYC Office of Emergency Management received recognition from Architect Magazine’s Progressive Architecture design awards program. Vira’s ability to synthesize client, budget, and building technology into compelling designs is his hallmark.

Lawrence Group partners with SSM Health and SLUCare on new hospital and ambulatory care center

Lawrence Group is proud to partner with SSM Health and SLUCare on a new $550 million academic medical center set to break ground in St. Louis, Missouri on August 31, 2017. New $26 million SSM Health Outpatient Center opens in St. Charles

Lawrence Group is honored to have designed the new SSM Health Outpatient Center located near Interstate 70 and Fifth Street in St. Charles, Missouri. The facility is scheduled to open on April 24th and includes an urgent care center, imaging services, physician offices, an outpatient laboratory, retail pharmacy and education center.
