This kitchen blends a host of modern conveniences into the owners’ historic home. The project was a complete gut renovation.
A low, flat ceiling was replaced by a vaulted ceiling, trimmed to match the original house, and a keystone was set to replicate detail in the entry hall. The renovation had to flow with the existing architecture and its simplicity, detail, symmetry, and classic natural materials.
The
new materials include cherry hardwood, granite counter tops and
backsplashes, stone flooring and European stainless appliances.
