Springfield Cancer Center
This project is a joint venture between The Community Hospital and Mercy Health Partners. The unity of these two hospitals has brought about the reuse of an historically significant downtown site, which has been transformed into a 21st Century medical facility that complements the downtown revitalization program.
The Springfield Regional Cancer Center merges the design of some of Springfield’s most prominent historic buildings with innovative healthcare. The 25,000-square foot facility brings together the local medical oncology practices with state-of-the-art radiation therapy programs designed to provide an holistic approach to patient care. The center is equipped to handle 11,000 chemotherapy infusions a year and over 500 courses of radiation treatments, including the newest in intermittent and high dose radiation.
