School of Business and Administration Expansion
John and Lucy Cook Hall at John Cook School of Business
St. Louis, MO
The School of Business and Administration expansion includes the new 60,000 square foot John & Lucy Cook Hall and the renovation of the 55,000 square foot Davis-Shaughnessy Hall, built in 1919 in the Collegiate Gothic style. The traditional brick and hand-carved limestone exterior of the new building is designed to match the original architecture of Davis-Shaughnessy Hall while incorporating modern technology throughout the combined facilities, including individual classroom seats wired for network and internet connections.
The project team achieved a major goal for the University with an innovative, thoughtful space plan that creates community, encourages out-of-classroom learning and supports spontaneous interaction and idea exchange. Modern, sophisticated finishes reflect the school’s progressive approach to education and appeal to working professionals who attend graduate-level classes there. Lawrence Group provided architectural and interior design services.
