Martha Stewart Living
When Martha Stewart expanded her presence into network television with the Martha! Show, the media company needed new studio, support area and post-production spaces. In addition to being a relocation of Martha’s previous broadcast facilities, the project needed to match her specific aesthetic sensibilities both for the set and environment of the show. Located in the historic Chelsea Studios in New York, the renovated facilities also needed to meet the technical and operational needs of a modern broadcast operation.
The design solution for the 8,000-square-foot television studio accommodated a 185-person audience and incorporated separate kitchen, craft and greenhouse areas, along with a full-functional camera-ready commercial kitchen. The branding extended throughout the facility to the exterior of the building, where colorful, oversized signs and awning integrated into the facade announced the nerve center of the show to those passing by on Seventh Avenue and 26th Street.
