Dobbs Group Housing and Dining Center
University of Missouri
Faced with the dilemma of more students than beds, Mizzou’s Residential Life Master Plan called for the demolition of the aging Jones Hall and Dobbs Dining Pavilion as well as Lathrop and Laws Halls in order to accommodate more students in on-campus housing.
Phase one of the Dobbs Group Replacement project includes two five-story residence halls and a 600-seat dining center. Both residence halls promote community and encourage socialization through small living units of approximately 15 residents that share student lounge space and small-scale community bathrooms. The new dining center includes an open, two-story dining space featuring six distinct dining venues and adjacent dining areas. The new buildings fit comfortably between neighboring residence halls and taller Medical School facilities, visually connecting the Southwest corner of campus. This project completed in association with KWK Architects.
