Who Is Lawrence Group?
Lawrence Group is a building design, development and project delivery firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. Lawrence Group is an industry leader with professional staff in five regional offices in North America and one international office in the People's Republic of China (PRC.) Across the international network of operations today, the firm's expertise includes architecture, interior design, urban planning, landscape architecture, real estate development, graphic design, and construction management.
Lawrence Group was founded as an architecture company in 1983 by a trio of young design school graduates of "KU," The University of Kansas at Lawrence, Kansas (and thus the name, Lawrence Group.) Steve Smith, David Ohlemeyer and Paul Doerner established Lawrence Group with the goal of becoming a design-and-construction industry "super-firm." The addition of interior design services headed by Linda Loewenstein in 1984 was their next step towards realizing that goal.
Between 1996 and 2009 the company expanded its St. Louis-based North American operations to comprise offices in additional, key regions anchored by practices in Austin, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina and New York, New York. In 2008 Lawrence Group expanded its services internationally with an office in Beijing, People's Republic of China.
