The owner of this multi-family housing development has been repositioning their real estate assets to offer more opportunities to the community. This 1920s era structure had constrained floor to floor heights, narrow living spaces, and outdated infrastructure. The cost to redevelop such a structure required the team to consider how to increase unit density while maintaining historic character.

The concept of “micro-living” was introduced to increase unit density and enhance the living experience. This concept allowed the team to increase the unit density by 33 percent. Each dwelling unit includes its own bath, kitchen, and living space with a murphy bed. Ranging in size from 210 – 240 square feet, the units at 6188 McPherson offer new opportunities for modern living.
