New Jersey Residence

A Private Residential Village

The conceptual design for this residence is based on creating a private residential village composed of a main house and multiple out-building bungalows set across the property. The client, a car enthusiast, also wanted a design for the property where the cars in the collection could be showcased throughout the property.

Stylistically, the project has been designed to have a feel that combines the rural farm buildings that are common across the northeast with modernist forms, organic wood, stone and stucco. Specifically, the primary spaces throughout the main residence and the bungalows are based on traditional barn structures. To showcase the cars throughout the property, a unique site plan was developed with driveway that winds through the entire property. The landscape design for the gardens, terraces and pool all are interwoven in and around the building structures to create different kinds of outdoor living rooms.
