Challenge
The Sarah Community is an existing Continuing Care Retirement Community founded by five orders of nuns on the campus of DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Over the years, The Sarah Community and St. Andrew’s Management Services have partnered with Lawrence Group to help meet the changing needs of the campus to continue to provide quality long-term care to residents even as the senior care model evolves.
Solution
Lawrence Group designed Naomi, Veronica, and the original Anna House, making up The Sarah Community and has continued to provide design services as the facilities have been updated to reposition the campus. Veronica House includes 97 assisted living apartments and Naomi House includes 107 independent living apartments. Lawrence Group designed a new skilled care center with six households (16-18 residents each) connected to the other levels of care. The center also includes a new 200-seat chapel for the entire community.
