Lawrence Group is proud to announce Chief Executive Officer Steve Smith, FAIA, has been elevated to the American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows in recognition of his significant contribution to the profession of architecture and society.
Smith was recognized for his ability to create opportunities for excellent design, historic preservation and community transformation. The impact of his work can be seen throughout urban St. Louis with transformative projects such as City Foundry STL, Angad Arts Hotel, Park Pacific and The Marquette Building.
Since founding Lawrence Group in 1983, Smith has dedicated his career to expanding the architect’s role to increase the pace of change and community revitalization in St. Louis. Often taking on the role of developer, planner and architect, his work includes the revitalization of 15 national historic landmark projects and community investments totaling more than $565 million.
Fellowship is AIA’s highest honor, recognizing architects who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession and made a significant contribution to architecture and society. Less than three percent of architecture professionals achieve AIA Fellowship.
